Hi there, I’m a transplant to LA from the East Coast.
I’m working on the homepage team at the LA Times, with a focus on Apple News strategy. Most recently, I worked in the content optimization team for tronc, specializing in making the news work for a digital audience. At tronc, I headed up Apple News for all of our nine newspapers, primarily focusing on the Los Angeles Times. I also worked on social for the Hartford Courant, and helped focus digital strategies through weekly decks on how the Courant compared to its competitors, maximizing future opportunities. I love what data shows us about how we consume media.
Prior to that, I worked as a reporter and editor for community papers from Maryland to California. I enjoy writing about how policy affects people, and reading long features. I love visualizations and mapping, and figuring out how to explain complicated issues in simple ways.
Previous experience includes covering education at the Capital Gazette, just about everything at Carroll County Times, and working on Capitol Hill covering congressional politics. I was a serial intern in college at places like ABC News, Animal Planet and the Dewey Square Group.
My interests run far and wide. I love pop culture and politics. I like drinking craft beer, hiking, and crocheting. I’m a small-r runner: I love to run, but am not exactly fast. Feel free to look around or contact me. You can follow my occasional newsletter, THE FEELS, too.
